After her successful turn as a Eurasian popstar in ‘War, Inc.’ Hilary Duff has signed on for a new film, ‘Stay Cool’, which sounds like it could be awesome.  Reuters reports:

Duff co-stars in “Cool” with Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer. The project comes from filmmakers Mark and Michael Polish, and begins shooting next month.

It is described as a “knowing-your-age comedy,” centering on a successful author (Mark Polish) who is forced to confront an unrequited high school crush (Ryder) when he returns home to deliver a commencement address to graduating seniors.

Duff will portray a sexy high school senior who flirts with the visiting author and invites him to the prom.

The cast looks pretty stacked, so this should be a funny movie.  No word on a release date yet.

Ryan Tedder, lead singer of band OneRepublic, just did an interview over at Popjustice where he seems to think he is the second coming of Shakespeare.  Anyways, the article is long and annoying, so lets skip to the part where he talks about Hilary:

Oh God (guffaws) let’s not go there. Remember when I was talking about how I needed to make a living from songwriting? There you have it. Oh man, there’s some stuff… At a later date I will go on record… When I give less of a shit about certain people. I’d love to write a tell all book about certain artists and how little they care.

In case you didn’t know, Tedder wrote some songs for Hilary’s Dignity album.  He also writes songs for OneRepublic.  Giving them credit for writing deep, thought provoking songs would be as much as a travesty as giving Paris Hilton a Nobel Peace Prize.  Looks like Tedder missed the memo on that one.  And lets face it, the only reason they are successful is because Timbaland produces their stuff.  Timbaland could produce someone running their fingernails down a chalkboard and have it go multi-platinum.

After a long wait, we have got the clip of Yonica singing in reasonably high quality. Yonica’s lyrics aren’t quite as inspired as Hilary’s, but she gets right to the point. Anyways, check out the video below.

Duff, who will no doubt shed her good girl image after this naughty role, plays the part of a “slutty” pop star in the John Cusack film, War, Inc.

John Cusack is doing interviews to promote his new movie, War Inc, which also stars Hilary Duff. Not suprisingly, it sounds like Hilary did an excellent job with her role.

The film, opening April 25 in Toronto, features a surprisingly strong performance by pop diva Hilary Duff, who plays a Mideast version of a troubled Britney Spears type who’s being exploited by the sinister American corporation that’s occupying Turaqistan.

Cusack said he was blown away by Duff’s acting chops.

“She’s a great actress, and she’s a real movie star, too,” Cusack says, marvelling at how Duff often stole scenes from experienced actors like himself, Tomei and his sister, Joan, who also appears in the film.

“I’ve been around a lot of terrific actresses and you know when you’re in the presence of someone who’s sort of got it. She has an intelligence onscreen and then this kind of transparency where no matter what she does, you feel for her and you care about her.

“And she has a face that sucks up any sleeves that we put around her. We tried to make her as slutty as we could, but you put the camera on her and you couldn’t see anything but that soul and those eyes.”
